Psilakis is a photographer of high aesthetics and deep knowledge. He beautifully frames his compositions, highlighting the variety of texture, colors, and harmonies. He avoids the clichés. His photographs are honest and clear. He knows that the subject matter itself, especially the people he has encountered as he gets closer to them, possess a cathartic truth. Their own truth, supported by an aesthetic entirely unique, that captivates the viewer.

In the photographs with an "ethnographic character", color and texture are the protagonists, so varied, so embossed that they provoke our tactile sense. We immerse ourselves, along with the brightly adorned woman, in a sea of golden wheat that Yannis managed to vividly depict grain by grain.

Yannis Psilakis' photographic lens not only explored the "land of men", he let his lens "read" the melodies of the sun, the plays of shadow and managed to write his own anthem.
