From the preface to the publication

Yannis Psilakis. Photographer: Musician; Scholar; Traveler; Reporter; Revolutionary; Traveler; Humanitarian; Following his life in recent years and on the occasion of this publication, I will refer to those elements that, in my opinion, make his work "true", "sincere" and "intact".

The monograph "The World is One" includes extremely high-quality photographs of various races of the planet and is divided into three compact autonomous thematic and contrasting sections.

By leafing through the pages of the book, the reader becomes a partaker of the wealth of an endangered heritage and travels with the lens of Yannis Psilakis to the most remote but at the same time enchanting neighborhoods of the world. He does not set up his models to photograph them. He does not embellish his images. He is not bound by any religious and cultural tradition; on the contrary, he experiences the particularities of cultures with diverse origins, having the unique ability to reconcile them.

His photographs are characterized by a anthropocentric approach, rich interiority, expressiveness and psyche. They focus on Man and his multiple roles, the visionary man, the fighter man, the revolutionary man, the victorious man, the man at the center of History.
