The Cultural Year of Greece in China officially began on October 17, 2007, in Beijing, and was supported by both the Chinese and Greek governments. The goal of the Greek Embassy in Beijing, which had the overall supervision and coordination of the events, was to offer the Chinese an unparalleled opportunity to learn about the customs, traditions, art and architecture of Greek culture.

Among the planned events was the photography exhibition “Greece through the eyes of Yannis Psilakis” from the photographic archive of Y. Psilakis, which was inaugurated on October 19, 2007 at the Greek Center on the Forbidden City in Beijing and lasted until November 30.
